Η ιστορία ξεκινάει το 1796. Η Γερμανία βρίσκεται κάτω από Ναπολεόντειο κατοχή. Δύο αδέλφια, ο Βίλχεμ (ή Γουίλ) και ο Τζέικομπ (ή Τζέικ) Γκριμ, εξαπατούν χωριάτες, παρουσιάζοντας τους εαυτούς τους ως εξορκιστές και κυνηγούς μαγισσών.Την απάτη τους θα αποκαλύψει ο Ντελατόμπ, ο άνθρωπος του Ναπολέοντα στην Γερμανία. Αντί να τους καταδικάσει σε θάνατο, θα τους δώσει μια ευκαιρία να εξιλεωθούν. Πώς; Στο χωριό Μαρμπάντεν εξαφανίζονται μυστηριωδώς νεαρές παρθένες. Θα πρέπει οι δυο τους να ανακαλύψουν τι ακριβώς συμβαίνει.Οι Γκριμ δέχονται, θεωρώντας ότι θα καταφέρουν να ξεφύγουν με πονηριά. Οδηγός τους στο μαγεμένο, παρακείμενο δάσος θα είναι η πανέμορφη Αντζέλικα, την οποία θα ερωτευθούν και οι δυο τους.Γρήγορα, όμως, τα δύο αδέλφια θα καταλάβουν πως αυτήν τη φορά έχουν όντως να κάνουν με κάτι μεταφυσικό: μια μάγισσα 500 ετών που επιδιώκει να μείνει για πάντα νέα...
