Το Fawlty Towers είναι μια κλασσική κωμική σειρά αγγλικής παραγωγής που ξεκίνησε να προβάλλεται το 1975 στο κανάλι BBC 2 όπου και ολοκλήρωσε την πρώτη της σεζόν με έξι επεισόδια. Μετά από τρία χρόνια περίπου προβλήθηκε και η δεύτερη σεζόν από το κανάλι BBC και ολοκληρώθηκε με έξι πάλι επεισόδια. Το σενάριο είναι γραμμένο από τον John Cleese και την Connie Booth, δύο βασικούς χαρακτήρες της σειράς.


Το Fawlty Towers διαδραματίζεται σε ένα ξενοδοχείο, το Fawlty Towers στο Torquay της Αγγλίας. Η υπόθεση εστιάζει στις περιπέτειες του σνομπ και αυθάδη ιδιοκτήτη του ξενοδοχείου, Basil Fawlty (John Cleese), της γυναίκας του Sybil (Prunella Scales) και στους δύο υπάλληλους τους, τον ισπανό Manuel (Andrew Sachs) και την Polly (Connie Booth) η οποία πάντα βρίσκεται στο πλευρό τους να τους βοηθάει και να τους καλύπτει. Μέσα από τα επεισόδια φαίνεται έντονα η προσπάθεια του Basil να “ανεβάσει το επίπεδο” τόσο των πελατών του όσο και του ιδίου έτσι ώστε να ανεβεί ένα σκαλί πιο πάνω στην κοινωνική σκάλα, αλλά αυτό, δυστυχώς για τον Basil (και ευτυχώς για εμάς), γίνεται μέσω κάποιων ευτράπελων καταστάσεων και αρκετών παρεξηγήσεων οι οποίες εμπλέκονται σε μεγάλο βαθμό με τον Manuel αφού δεν γνωρίζει την αγγλική γλώσσα και παράλληλα με την εκκεντρικότητα του Basil. Όλα αυτά γίνονται σχεδόν πάντα με την παρουσία της οκνηρής Sybil, που σπανίως δουλεύει και την περισσότερη ώρα μιλά στο τηλέφωνο αλλά όταν αποφασίσει να πάρει την κατάσταση στα χέρια της την διαχειρίζεται καλύτερα και από τον Basil.
